89860015Wilson Acosta after separating from the military transferred to the University of Mary Washington to become a part of the Creative Writing program. He strongly believes that a creative mind can help find a solution to almost any problem. He also believes that his time spent living overseas in countries such as Japan and Italy are responsible for the personal growth that has taken place within him. Wilson is eager to learn about how the exposure to other cultures within our seven continents is displayed within writer’s work.

Blake Edwards is a senior Creative Writing Major at the University of Mary Washington from Richmond, Va. He has been doing comedy inspired performances since 2006 including speeches, skits and stand-up performances.  He has never traveled outside of the United States but his friends collect rocks from all over the world including Germany, France, Italy, China, Ireland, and Greece to add to his collection. The whole world is indeed in his hands.

Sarah Kelly is a senior Creative Writing major at the University of Mary Washington. She can’t decide if she is from Ireland or America originally, and spends a lot of time thinking about what that means. Sarah would love to travel anywhere at all in the world, as long as it’s not too rainy.


Emily Montgomery is a senior Geography and English for Creative Writing major at the University of Mary Washington from Newport News, Va. Her previous trips to Europe and South America have only made her want to travel more. She looks forward to future adventures working on a goat farm in Maine, helping at an apple juice plant in Sweden, and exploring underground Paris, among other things.


Tyshawnda Silver  is a senior English major with a concentration in Creative Writing at the University of Mary Washington from Fredericksburg, Va. She aspires to teach English to middle school children. Tyshawnda enjoys traveling, singing, writing, and spending quality time with her family and friends. She also loves being the only left-handed girl in her family.
